We\u2019ve discussed the benefits of STEM education multiple times. There are numerous 21st-century skills that students can obtain throughout their learning process in STEM classes. Not only the traditional skills and abilities can be strengthened, but also a number of new ones that will open even more doors for our students\u2019 near future<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That being said, we must take into consideration the different paths, possibilities and options we have -as teachers- to teach STEM. How can we find a road that is both engaging and useful for our students\u2019 curricula? How can we make sure we are delivering, indeed, the tools they need to receive?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, today we want to discuss robotics, and 5 excellent reasons for why they are very important for STEM. Discover in the next few paragraphs 5 reasons, 5 reasons that will show you why you should start implementing robotics and cyber robotics in your STEM classroom today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reason #1: Engaging<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Teachers are constantly looking for engaging tools to use within the classroom. Having one, or a few engaging elements as part of the class\u2019 curriculum will turn any traditional classroom in a space in which our students can experiment, feel like themselves, and enjoy the class in a more interactive, fun way. Robotics are an amazing way for teachers and students to feel this way. Doing a few projects with an EV3 robot<\/a>, for example, can provide a new, exciting vibe to a class that won\u2019t feel as traditional and boring like others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finding something that will effectively cause engagement in your students isn\u2019t an easy task, but robotics are here to help. Big time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reason #2: Fun<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gamified learning is a hot topic, no doubt, We know it is extremely important to make our classes fun and appealing to our students, always keeping the focus on the class\u2019 content and curricula. Not an easy thing to do, right? Many big players in the industry are trying to penetrate the field of gamified learning<\/a> with the goal of changing the paradigm of the old classroom structure we\u2019ve learned at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robotics are an amazing way to add the fun-factor to your class. Students can learn how to program their robots, and then (with a lot of trial and error), be amused with the extraordinary things their robots can do. There are even cyber robotics competitions<\/a> you can subscribe to, so you can guarantee your students that the fun-factor in the learning process will be there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reason #3: Scalable<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Robotics are an amazing way to assure a scalable curriculum. There is always something else to learn, and some new content to teach. While teaching robotics within your STEM class, there will always be something amazing and quite to introduce to your students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sensors, motors, pieces, controllers, etc\u2026 You will always have something to talk about, and many different ways to connect it to your STEM class. In robotics, you can talk about and also apply science, technology, engineering, math, arts, creativity, and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reason #4: Inclusiveness<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a previous article from this blog, we discussed inclusivity thoroughly<\/a>. We are convinced that robotics in the classroom can enable teachers, principals, and districts to implement inclusiveness. When talking about a subject that is so interdisciplinary, and that has so many different approaches, we are talking about a subject in which every student will find something to do while learning it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robotics can offer your students many possibilities to develop 21st-century skills and to strengthen numerous abilities for their future, whatever future they decide for themselves. In a way, robotics can offer them a new way of thinking that will be useful regardless of the career path they pick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CoderZ, for example, is a great example of how robotics and inclusivity can be on the same page, always. How? By allowing every student to have their very own virtual robot and program it from wherever, and whenever.<\/a> May the code be with them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
